Owner/Teacher: Anthony Sasso

Anthony has a long history with movement oriented practices and sports. Starting with his first Yoga class at age 12, discovering surfing at age 15 while growing up in Fla., to becoming a Pilates teacher in his late thirties. His life has revolved more around what sport he is doing than anything else except his family. He started doing Pilates in the late 1990s after practicing Yoga for about 10 years consistently and getting certified to teach by IT'S YOGA founder Larry Schultz. He liked the stretching and balancing of Yoga but wanted to find something that built strength also and he found it in Pilates. Anthony received his Pilates certification from the famous Romana Kryzanowska in 2002 and has been teaching in Manhattan ever since.

Teacher: Lorenza Ludovicci

Lorenza was certified by A Body Prepared (Los Angeles) in 2000, and continues her studies with Romana's Pilates in New York City to become one of the few teachers with dual certifications. She is experienced in teaching the original Pilates technique, focusing energy on the "powerhouse"- everything is an extension of that. She provides a dynamic workout, correcting clients through movement. She is a former competitive polo player, and has a background in dance.

Teachers All of our teachers have gone through either the Pilates Studio or Romania’s Pilates training; these programs used to be the same but have since split up. They are both of the highest quality and students must have completed 600 hours of in studio training. There are so many Pilate’s certifications today that the prospective student must be vigilant in picking out his/her trainer. The Wall Street Journal (March 13th 2005) also reported that the explosion in the popularity of Pilates has led to a shortage of qualified teachers. Make sure your teacher has done a 600 Hr in studio apprenticeship. Don’t be fooled by weekend certifications, home study apprenticeships or apprenticeships less than 600 hours. After all it is your body, time and money that are at stake. If possible make sure the owner of the studio practices and/or teaches Pilates, that way you’ll know that Pilates is part of their life and they haven’t just opened a studio to capitalize on the next big thing.
